I have panic attacks when required to do oral exams. It started in 10th grade before I knew about this whole Asperger's business, my French teacher made us record a minute-long memorised response to a randomly selected pre-approved topic (so basically we had to memorise five different monologues because we never knew which question we would end up with). It was horrible, it was my first experience with panic attacks, and I was shaking and hyperventilating so bad I could barely get the words out, even saying my name for the recording was hard. I had to do it SEVEN times because we had one for each unit. Worst semester of my life. Ever since I've been terrified of having to step in front of a camera or recorder in school. Speeches I am quite good at, because I was on the forensics (speech and debate) team. I'm still terrified of doing them, but I don't panic and can actually come across as very articulate; I was the only one in my 12th grade speech class to get a 100% on a speech (our teacher was super strict and that pretty much never happened). Before you ask, I only joined the debate team because one of my friends wheedled me into it, and the teacher was my friend.
