In one of my college classes we have to do an advocacy assignment about libraries or literacy that we feel strongly about. My topic is Early Childhood Literacy. Another student is working with me and we basically have to come up with an advocacy idea for early childhood literacy. I'm really stumped on the topic, we have to actually go out there and do something big that has to do with the topic and promote and advocate it. Any ideas?

How about early childhood literacy for autistic children? I think that autistic children should be taught to read as early as possible. Many have receptive language/auditory processing problems through the ears, so reading may be the most viable path towards learning language for communication.

Children should learn how to read when they are 1
