...Ahem.

For reasons I don't feel like elaborating upon (I lost my possssttttt ; ^ ;), we have come to consider online schooling as an option. The problem is, the two programs my counselor suggested have certain unworkable things about them (one requires a parent to be really involved, which is impossible, as all three of my parents have full-time jobs, and the other piles on a lot of busy work for no discernible reason).

Does anyone have any suggestions for programs that have worked for them in the past? I can do well in school when it comes to pure information-absorption and test-taking. Are there any schools out there like that?

jic it's relevant, I reside in Washington state.

Right now, I am studying with the Open University. I think they fit the description you're asking for. Have you considered them?

Also, i'm not sure what country you're in, but I have also studied with a college called Reid Kerr, which is in the UK. Their spelling is atrocious though... 8O

I wasn't sure if you'd be interested in these ideas, but I just thought i'd mention them anyway.

Hope this helped. Goodluck with your searching. :)

Thanks for the suggestions, LookingLost, but I don't think I qualify for them. I probably should've mentioned before, but I am but a wee high school student. I mostly need to just get high school over with, and my parents, teachers, and I are trying to figure out what the best way to go about this is, taking into consideration my shortcomings and weaknesses.

Not all of them might be exactly what you're looking for but a few might:

Codeacadymy
Coursera
Udemy
Learnstreet
Khan Academy
Google's University Consortium
W3Schools
Programr
OCW (open courseware) - especially MIT

Okay, that's fine. I just didn't know that wasn't what you were looking for. I am 17, and studying with the Open University, so it could be possible if that was what you wanted, but if you want to finish high school then that's great. I guess i'm just a weirdo for dropping out at 15. >.<

Good luck. :D
