I hate recess at school because its very noisy and NT girls come up to me and talk to me like im a toddler. I always have to sit by my self. Sorry just on a verge of a meltdown and need to get this out of my system.

Schoolchildren are vicious. When they grow up, most of them learn to be more considerate.

I agree with monsterland. And, also, you will know a bit more about their type too, all in some time. Til then, is there a group you can join? I myself used to read at recess, but I don't recommend it. I used to be in music, was in a library group and joined a newspaper group and a social justice committee in high school. All of which saved me socially.

Recess, for me, was like GITMO with monkeybars and swing sets.

What I always used to do in recess was find a place in the schoolyard to hide where I was really hard to find. How good are you at climbing trees?

I don't recommend hiding. You don't want to get cornered by yourself... it makes you more of a target.

I am trying to think of what would I tell my student self from a few years ago... I would tell my younger self to hang in there. To try and be aware of what kids talk about and the kinds of clothing that they wear, and the way they do their hair. I never used to care for my hair, and my jogging pants were, in my opinion now... gasp... horrible. I would tell myself not to care about the popular group, but to be friends with anyone kind who invited me.

I could go on an on with what I would have done differently in high school, but then again, so can a lot of people!

Is there an activity you can immerse yourself in at recess so you don't have to be by yourself?

I used to feel exactly like that when I was in elementary school, and sometimes in middle school when my friends weren't there. Thankfully I'm in high school now, so I don't have recess anymore.

I don't have recess anymore either, nor do I have any study hall periods. Aside from lunch, my school day is filled with classes. I actually find this to be less stressful.

It's been so long that I don't remember that much about recess.

I do remember that in the fifth grade during the World Series, three or four kids would sit there and discuss the games each day. I didn't understand baseball at all, but I liked to sit there and listen to them. It was all over too fast.

The other is in junior high I would go out and climb up on the stone walls by the entrance to the school and sit there by myself facing south regardless of the weather. I'd stay there until the bell rang.
