The best part about being a graduate student is...the library!! !!
I get to check books out for FOUR MONTHS!! Woo hoo - the end of public library late fees and going into debt at the used bookstore.

Not only that, but through the wonders of interlibrary loan, I can request any book in the entire world and if my school's library doesn't own it, they get it from another library! Oh the power and choice are making me drunk...

Actually the coolest thing is that my aspie doc told me I should educate myself about AS (since there are no professionals within driving distance of me who know anything about AS) so I have eight books on AS waiting for me at the circulation desk of my library. I can't wait to pick them up - I'm going to hunker down for a week and do nothing but read. I'm so excited.

Yeah, academic libraries are really cool.

Yeah academic libraries are cool - but at my library if you're an undergrad you only get to keep a book for one month, but as a grad student I get to keep them the whole semester - I still can't get over it.

Yeah, that's typical. At FSU undergrads get 3 weeks, grads and staff get 6, and faculty get 16 weeks. However, you can renew materials indefinitely so long as no one else asks for them.

I wish my uni had a better journals library. That's what I love. To print out endless neurology, neuroscience, and abnormal psych articles to my heart's content. I'm sure the grad school I'll be going to will have a better journals library than my current uni. Unfortunately, my uni now only offers a Masters in Counseling, so their journals are pretty crappy. :?

I love to visit Washington University's medical library though. :D

I love my library system- U of I at champaign urbana. It rocks. Being a grad student is better than undergrad. Being married to staff- even better. I can get him to request a book and he gets it delivered to his office. Nice. I also love the online sources. Though my most favorite part of the whole campus is the children's book center. Its a happy place- all those books, and book reviews, and discussions about the books.

Another favorite thing of mine about grad school so far- my GPA. Right now I have a 4.0. I've never ever had a 4.0 before. It rocks!

I used to volunteer on campus at the center for children's books. Its one of my favorite places. All the books and materials about the books and storytelling resources and the fairytales and folktale section... I want to volunteer there again as soon as I feel up to it.
