what do you do during lunch

Generally, I eat.

For some people it might be a dichotomy between food and talking. But I'm not much into talking at lunch, unless it is on a topic that strongly interests me.

Eat, walk, post.

Yeah. I eat. What else is there to do?

There was an interesting thread dealing with the social dynamics of school lunchtime over in the Adolescent forum.

I've noticed that a lot of people at my high school tend to take their thirty-five minute lunch without eating one bite. It's not a combination of food and socializing; it's entirely socializing. I guess that the gross excuse for food that our cafeteria serves only strengthens this idea of lunch being a social period.

As it's a new semester, and a lot of people have different lunches due to new classes, everyone's been playing the social game and asking everyone what lunch they have. Presumably to form groups for the socialization that will ensue.

I've been asked twice so far.

I eat and then go to the bench to read my book(s)

Eat. My lunch is usually some packed crap though with no taste, so I basically try and get it over with and then go buy a starbucks or something.

I sit at a table, normally with two people. Sometimes unwanted random people come by though.

I retreat as far as possible away from the main school building, and go hang out and eat with my mates, looking anti-social.

I go away from where most of the people eat into a smaller room where it is much quieter and better for me.

Usually I work on homework or go disappear into the library or basement of the science building for awhile.

I eat then head to my next class.

Usually tues/thurs is that i have a midmorning class, then lunch, then another class.

Besides eat, I listen to my CD player or I talk to myself/recite movie quotes.
