hello,
I'm 23. I miss my scholar orientation before and now i decide to have fresh new start.
I'm an INTP with strong visual and intrapersonal skill. I have no special interest in hard sciences except for the one connected with the humans like ethology.
i would like to know if there is a lot (like in economy or in social sciences in general) of ideological presuppositions in modern psychology ?
I would like to study Social engineering and also social psychology in a cognitive approach.
I have no much difficulty to speak with a person alone but I hate team work.

To sum up , is psychology a good field to a person with asperger and a lack of empathy and social skills ?

It's good if you actually know human psychology unlike any psychologist I've met. They ruin people's lives rather than help them. You're female I believe. Nailed it, didn't I? Is called sensing. Yeah, ok back to the point. If you study humans, do it with the following mindset for a pleasant surprise. Noone is really a bad person. Everyone have equal morals from birth. Any fights humans have are misunderstandings. Bullying is a result of misunderstandings. When humans get offended, they retaliate and this is the beginning, noone is really rejected by the "group".

There is much more to psychology than being a clinical psychologist - among other options, there's research. I struggle with cognitive psych because I cannot comprehend the various processing systems - it's not the way I think, and I cannot make that jump. If you can do it, that may be an option for you. Your dislike of teamwork may be a hindrance - research is a collaborative effort; even if you spend eight hours a day in the lab, you'll collaborate with someone eventually. I wouldn't say there's a lot of ideology in psych so much as there are schools of thought - it's not the same thing at all - and what some people believe, others do not.
