I am in my first semester of college and for years was a afraid of it because of how horrible people treated me in the k - 12 grades and how tough it was. I was expecting college to do everything it could to try and fail me but so far the teachers have been really great. I just sit in class doing the homework each day asking them questions and usually have no problem getting it done.

One of my teachers I enjoy talking to after class about more complex electrical stuff and he seems to enjoy just going on and on about different stuff. I just wish I had a better understanding of it to really know what he was saying.

Maybe its just my program but I just have to suggest everyone to give college a try don't procrastinate. The teachers want you to succeed and are willing to help. As long as you go to each class they are pretty easy to complete. I live on my own and between school and work its about 50 hours a week and I am still doing very well in class.

Besides the added stress I haven't felt this excited for the future in a long time.

The difference between K-12 and college is that you are not required to go to college, so anyone that is in college is most likely there to learn and get and education, though in the remedial and lower general ed classes you may find some who are not as serious about their education or just want to do nothing but party. That is a given at essentially any college you go to. Once you start moving up in classes those students will be weeded out by then. I am in the fall semester of my Junior year at college and even though it has been hard getting used to the new lifestyle after living at home all my life, it is a great opportunity to go to a small school, with the accommodations and scholarships/grants/loans I have, with a highly rated program in my field of study.
