University placements
Today I had a meeting to discuss what could possibly be put in place to help me successfully complete my placement. As an Occupational Therapy student, this will obviously involve me going into a 'practice setting', where there will be 'multi-disciplinary teams' and a range of clients. I walked away from the meeting feeling embarrassed, insecure and subsequently frustrated at myself thinking 'they must think I'm useless' and 'they must think I'm being ridiculous, like I'm making a huge deal out of nothing or I'm making things up or something'.
Anyway, the point is I know I needed to have the meeting and I know without the support, I have and will have, I most likely wouldn't be coping at all.
I just wondered, is there anyone on here that has had to go on a practice placement? What difficulties did you personally have? What strategies did you use to help you manage?
