I'm almost done with my MS biology project.... most my experiments are done and i'm slowly starting to write stuff up...

I'm having problems with motivation.... i keep procrastinating...

I work 7 days a week (my project involves animals... so i have to at least care for them daily)....

I am just having trouble making myself sit down to write/reformat data... I teach and have seminars and meetings to go to throughout the say... so it's easy just to let those pockets of time inbetween just slip by... and then, of course, i'm too tired to want to do more work at home....

I am just not having those bouts of inspiration to sit down and pound out the material, so to speak....

i'll finish on time and all... i guess i'm just not making this easier on myelf by working on stuff a little at a time...

and with WP sitting right here at my finger tips....

guess what i'm doing... yep... perusing/posting/procrastinating

NOT DOING MY WORK

I have this problem
Even if my work is interesting and I want to do it, I'll leave it till later, then I'll leave it again...

Yeah. It's killing me. I don't know how I found the
ability to do it before. If you're like me, you might
well be so afraid of the consequences of completion
that you are subconsciously sabotaging your own work.

I was going to post in this thread earlier, but I kept putting it off... :P

I'm also really bad at procrastinating. Also I start projects, and become disinterested or bored with them 90% of the way to completion.

Procrastinating is tough, probably more if you have AS. I often get distracted by obsessive interests. I always get things done on time though, so whatever. Procrastinating is only a big problem if you don't get things done at all.

I'd disagree Space, its a problem for me as I'll delay until it becomes an emergency - then I'll have a 48 hour period of intense stress (which increases as I approach zero hour). Although I get it done, it isn't to a standard I know that I should be working at and I'll be left exhausted afterwards.

Well no one is perfect. Accept the fact that you have shortcomings, and try to improve on them. You're not going to suddenly become a perfect student overnight...

Procrastinating is when you have something you need to complete within a set amount of time, but instead of gradually gettng the work done with steady progress, you wait until the last minute, right before the deadline to do it, often wasting that mispent time just plain goofing off.
