I have a dilemma on my hands. I go to a university and on that university we have to have 80% attendance or we flunk.

To get an official "sick day" one has to go about getting a note from a doctor. The problem is that I am kind of too sick to get out of the house and if I were to see a doctor the next day, how would he know that I was really sick?

My other problem is that I don't currently have a doctor that I see where I live now.

How am I to go about getting a sick note?

a) I'm not sure about the "confirming a sick day" issue myself, as that never really made sense to me to go and get a note for being sick. Logically, if one is too sick to get out of bed, then one is also too sick to get to the doctor and sit in a waiting room for an hour or so. If you can do that, then you might as well be in class. So, I remember one time a couple of years ago when I was sick, dizzy and feverish, with an onset of a bad case of the flu that appeared as I woke up mid morning one day for a midterm that was supposed to be that afternoon. I actually don't remember having felt quite so horrible with any other cold or flu before or since as I did that morning. As the medical centre was only a couple of blocks away from the site of the midterm, I went to the midterm instead. Despite the illness, somehow I apparently got the best grade in the class on it, so considering my condition, I suspect my subconscious wrote most of that one for me, as I was pretty out of it. Conclusion on the topic of how the doctor would know that you had been sick: I don't know. I imagine university doctors have experience with this, though.

b) I have a more useful contribution to the second question. Check to see if your university has a health services department. All of the universities I have attended have doctors onsite that you can book appointments with or go to a walk-in clinic to see. This would depend on your university, of course.

Needing a doctor's note is a moot point if your sickness makes you miss a day of class. I don't know how many days your various classes meet per session, but; a class that meets once a week for 12 weeks would allow for at least 2 days out without a doctor note.

Any illness that would keep you home over one week would be something you'd want to seek medical attention for, even if you'd need someone to take you to the doc in order to get there.

I'm generally either in one of my insomnia induced hazes, having a major headache backlash/hyperness and insanity backlash from one of said insomnia hazes or in a virus induced haze, I can't really tell the difference since all four of them feel the same, though my body will often shut down entirely on random occasions from fatigue or something, usually when i'm in public so that usually marks me as sick and I end up at the doctors or something usually, i'm not really sure what actually happens, though the dogs sometimes tell me.

I called the "head of the doctors" or whatever I might call it. The ones that makes it possible for you to switch doctors. There was only one available, a 67 year old man. The woman was like "yeah, that's the only thing I can find. He is a bit old though." she pretty much gave me the "the hell is he still doing as a doctor at that age" sound.

The main problem now is that every doctor where I live somehow have decided that this is a good day to not work. Seriously, everywhere it's closed today. Not any other days of the week, but today

I guess people are not meant to get ill on this day of the week.

Sorry, but I have no idea what you are trying to convey. Nor if you are contributing anything to the thread at all except for a hazy personal story.
