I am not sure if this topic has been discussed yet but are there any benefits to aspies in college? Do we get any special privileges in school since we might not learn the same as NT?

I believe it depends on the school. Some schools have groups which allow you accomodations much like the type you get in reg school if your a special needs student. I know my school does and its pretty small probably about 300 students maybe a bit more.

Nope, not here. This one guy in my school claims to have ADHD even though he's fully NT, and he gets extra time on finals. A quadriplegic friend of mine has a single dorm room. That's about it. Professors actually expect more out of me because I'm in an honors program and my scholarship requires me to maintain a 3.5.

Never requested any "accomodations" on the basis of me being on the autistic spectrum. Heck, never even told anyone even though I suspected that one of my teachers at Kennesaw State University thought I was not like others.

You don't get any accommodations by default because you have aspergers, but a lot of people who have aspergers also have learning disabilities which do get accommodations.

If you have diagnosed learning disability then the school has to give you accommodations, like extra time on exams and such...

When I was at my employment skills course, I didn't get any special accomidations as such...but I did get some extra help on things such as communication skills assessments.

It was not "official" help, more just like some one-on-one time with the tutor.

Not really, other than professors who are understanding enough if I ask to wear regular earplugs into exams because it gets too noisy or to request to sit off to the side of the room in an exam (we're assigned seating for physics exams). Only little things like that which would probably be granted to any student if he/she asked. I've also had some ongoing health issues which have needed extra time to turn in assignments, but again, that's something that any student would get if necessary.

Through my university's disability services I have a note-taker and I get to take tests in a quiet and secluded part of the student lounge building instead of in class.
