Hello. I'm new here. I'm just wondering if anyone here has had a peer mentor in college setting or any setting? My son has AS and he's in his first lonely year in college. His room mate (an NT) moved out cause he couldn't communicate with my son (though he is brilliant academically, he doesn't talk very much socially). I'm launching a project in finding him a peer mentor, but I'm a bit discouraged because he is in a technical school where students are not necessarily interested in community service within the confines of the campus. If you had a mentor, what type of stuff did you do with him/her? Can you point me to the right direction in how to find one for my son?

Thanks for reading this.

I've met a few peer Aspies, most of whom seem uninterested in me. However, one of my professors is one. He is only in his thirties, yet is tenured because he is a respected leader in his field, complete with an Ivy League education and a job editing a journal. He's extremely busy, and we have totally opposite schedules, but he meets with me whenever he can.
