Today was my first day of classes for the new semester.

My first class was Calculus I, taught by one of the few professors at my college who is older than 60. He is very straightforward, and structured--a sharp contrast from my chemistry professor last semester, whose class I had to drop. Calculus was surprisingly easy, mainly because I had excellent practice in my precalculus class at the community college I attended back in Houston.

My second course was Structural Geology. We learned how to use a Brunton compass, which is a tool that geologists use to measure strikes and dips on rocks. Tomorrow, I have Sedimentation and Stratrigraphy.

That structural geology class sound interesting. I would consider geology as a minor, but my college doesn't offer it. What do you think of the geology major so far? Does it keep your interest? Geology isn't a very common major, I'm interested in hearing how it is from a student.

My first day of class is the 22nd, and on that day I have only General Biology II (Tuesday and Thursday). The corresponding lab on that same day doesn't begin until the week after school starts. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I have Intermediate Algebra, English Composition II, Elementary French II, and Afro-American History II.

I've already been to all my classes already. I'm not sure exactly whether to be excited and thrilled with all my classes, or nervous and terrified :)

This semester/quarter can go either way. It could (hopefully) click real soon and be easy-breezy or else the most horrible semester ever.

We don't start next semester until Febuary, but I'm taking an upper division biology class right now. I'm kind of excited for second semester because I've heard good things about second semester physics and about the physics prof I'm going to have. :)

Good first day :D I'm very scared about my first day, as I don't do very well with change, and it will be two days after I have my last summative (In my least favourite course, history)
Plus my English class, the only one that's not semestered, is having a HUGE test on the same day, so that stresses me out more!

I'm taking Poetry, Science Fiction (yes, an actual class, we learn about the motifs behind Sci Fi, and watch Star Trek occasionally) Christian Foundations, World Literature, and American Literature.

I'm a writing lit major, and this is a great semester.
