So I'm a senior in college and I want to spend significant time (several years) in a foreign country. I'm in my second semester of Persian and I'm trying to get into the University of Tehran. One recommendation came from my Persian teacher, an Iran native, and the other from the head of the anthropology department. This is my second application as my first application received no reply. Has anyone else experienced this with applications to universities in countries that do not have good relations with your country?

There's a decent probability we'll be at war with Iran inside of 5 years. Stay out if you value your life.
