I suck at it too, and consequently spent a good portion of my 18 years figuring out what the hell people meant when they made certain movements. Now with normal people I tend to overuse the gestures I've learned, and I think they're catching on...

Yes and I think that's common among autists and aspergers and has something to do with the amygdala and other brain structures that are different in us compared to NTs.

I remember really resenting it when I found out NTs were using this invisible (to me) language and expecting me to be able to understand that to "interpret" what they "really meant' instead of just being able to use their words.

Actually gestures, eye contact, winking and most facial expressions (does not include smiling, anger, sadness as far as I know)

winking and direct eye contaact is ocnsidered rude in many asian countries 8O
