My teachers don't understand what I'm saying.

I'm a freshman in highschool. In algebra I just finished studying radicals. When my algebra teacher first taught us radicals he told me directly because I was confused on the matter, that when simplifying radicals you must divide the radical by the lowest prime number possible and the simplified radical must be capable of being divided again by that same prime number and you keep doing this until you can't divide anymore.
A week later he said to the whole class that it doesn't matter wether the simplified radical is divisible by the same prime number or not. This seriously confused me, but when I tried to explain this to him he had no idea what I was talking about. I eventually figured it out on my own, but thats not the point. My problem is I can't communicate my thoughts into words. Its like there aren't enough words in the English language.
Is there anyway I can improve my communication skills with everyday people? I talk so strangely that I've been mistaken for a foreign exchange student by a foreign exchange student. Any help here?

Just right down your thoughts and hand them to your teacher is an idea. Verbally, Practice makes perfect is what I have to say.

I have found that most people don't remember as distinctly as I do what they said. This confuses them when you confront them with it with a recollection accurate down to the smallest detail. They hear you saying words in situations that seem familiar to them but they can't remember as well as we do.

I agree, learn how to write well and tender your recollections in writing, leaving them no doubt as what your questions/concerns are. This will give you great satisfaction, however I don't find a lot of eager letter readers out there, so you might get as little response from the note as from your verbal expressions.

well I have short term memory issues and tend to forget my thoughts so I do write everything down - if you feel it doesn't make sense then ask someone else to 'proof read' for you
that way you can read off of it and learn how to phrase things in a better and more understandable way
