I'm not the most sociable of people and can be quite awkward in Social situations 
Can aanyone just give me some quick tips to get me through?

Smile at people and say hello now and then, as appropriate. Take NOTHING personally. Do not over-analyze situations, you will probably read more into them than is there. Best way to make friends is to be a friend. Congrats on making it to college - keep us updated!

Ooh, and I've just been talking to some friends from HS.
Apparently, there are some 'team-building' exercises
