(Not sure if this should go in working or not)

Well, first of all, let me say: My work-study job is probably the least demanding job in the world. I watch the desk when the secretary isn't there, and then when no one shows up, I do my work.

Moving on...

The secretary at my work-study job is...hotheaded. I told her that maybe the problem we had wasn't the computer, but the printer and she went off on me! :( The IT people came down and told her that the problem was pretty much what she suspected (she told them that), and then she said "Oh, well, that's what I meant. Sorry if I didn't use the correct vernacular." She's mean to me on occasion as well, but is friendly towards most other people. I wish I knew what it was that I had done to her :(. She thinks that the smallest things are the biggest deal, and consequently gets p*ssed off at them really quickly.

My question is this: How do you deal with someone like this?

Hi there ,

I'm 40 years old now, but my father was like that to me
growing up ... and like you, I utterly fail to understand
that mentality.

For what it's worth, I know where you are, and I feel for you!
