My hair is fairly long, down to my waist I believe.

Short hair as of the beginning of this year.

No matter how many times I try letting it grow out, I usually get fed up and cut it short eventually.

I'm at the 'just glad to still have some hair' stage. It's been a very gradual process rather than a 'James Taylor' type of thing. I've never had really long hair, at most it's been medium length.

As short as it gets.
Can't wait until I'm naturally bald .. then I'll finally save myself the trouble of shaving

I grew my hair long as a teen to cover the way my ears stuck out (my nickname for may years was "friction ears")
It has never grown past my nipples and started turning white when I was 28. (Transparent really)
I haven't had a haircut since the 80s

How about we stop using "thick" as a descriptor .
In the fleece business hair diameter is measured in microns and described as "fine" or "coarse"
Thickness is also used to describe follicle density, hence "dense" would be less ambiguous.

My partners tresses look like horsehair compared to mine and it is SO much easier to maintain.
