I just thought I ask this because some people are able to whistle, while others can't. I cannot whistle.

No. Can't snap fingers either. Was made fun of by teachers as they assumed everyone could do that, therefore i wasn't trying hard enough to them.

Yes, and I can whistle when breathing in as well as when breathing out. This means I can carry on whistling for a long time without having to stop for breaths. Sooner or later my lips get dry, though, and I have to stop.

Non-whistling people, do not feel sad that you can't whistle. Maybe you have other talents instead. Example: I can't curl my tongue. :(

I couldn't snap my fingers when I was younger either. When we had to do so in school I would pretend to snap by flicking my index and middle fingers against each other.

^ I love this, me too.

However, my musical abilities are sub par, pitch, tone, whatever. I can't replicate any tune very well, despite having whistled SO much, from a very young age.

I can do this, too.

Yeah, I can whistle. Not very well, but I can.

Snapping my fingers was something I picked up on pretty quickly. I used to annoy the crap out of my mom from doing it so much. :P

While my uncle and my dad can, I can't. My sister, a few years back however, did teach me how to snap my fingers. XD

I couldn't for years, then suddenly hit upon it last year. I'm not much good at it, though. I'm away from home and have no musical instruments around, so it's all I can do. And I can snap (some of) my fingers now, too. Gotta get all that music out somehow.
