Any work at home aspies?
Just wondering? I've been working for a medical transcription company based out of Australia and I absolutely love it and compared to a majority of US transcription companies, their pay is off the charts even with the exchange rate for those of us overseas! I also worked for a company in the US for eight months but stopped a few months ago because their pay was half of what I was doing with the AUS company plus they didn't always have work available. I've been extremely blessed and fortunate to have a job that I actually enjoy doing and setting my own work hours.
The only thing I hate hearing constantly is that people think I'm a hermit, etc. since I don't get out and meet people. Fortunately, my parents and other family members have been extremely supportive of the fact that I enjoy my work from home job. Its when I tell others about it that they automatically assume I'm socially isolated, a loner, etc. when that isn't the case at all...I just find other ways to get out and socialize and I'm rather sociable on the weekends. I also find time to mingle with people in my community chorus.
For those Aspies that do work at home, do you like you job and do you get the same comments as mentioned above? Its just really frustrating that some people make it seem like telecommuting is bad. I bet A LOT of Aspies would dream of working at home!
