I would NOT check that box. Once checked if it becomes stigmatic it stays in all your records from that day forward.
Also in jobs requiring tenure and with nice health plans. Fair or not, a "prior condition" is always a secret red check.
There as been trends that are seeking and blocking. My Son just got booted from air Force because Autism is a non-waiverable condition and Aspergers is now under Autism. he does not even have an official DX (unlike the other 2). It was on a report from a DEMATOLOGIST he saw for a rash!
I have been fired for going to Natl Guard Drill Weekend.
Reason "I did not fit the company image". I was a tall athlete female in a sports apparel store. So was I fired illegally as a woman or for going to drills? BTW it is only job in my life I was fired from.
There may be a law against discrimination but you have to prove it first! If it is not a required part I won't disclose more than my name, age and experience resume and e-verify I can work.
I am a hispanic female veteran of Native American heritage in truth. But it won't get me hire unless they are under the quota program like Walmart and Fed Jobs and will benefit from it. So why bother mentioning . If they hire me I can prove myself.
This is part of what terrifies me about re-evaluation of my childhood dx. My childhood dx is from an era waaay before data storage. It cannot be dug up except the paper documentation in my possession and the verification that the professionals were certified and actual people. Once I do this, it is in current style records.
