Hey not to make it stick out like a sore thumb, but people are still asking for a vaccine? That is a bit odd to me (I may have seen tis 1 in 500 applications, but have not seen that probably in 2-3 years). Regardless, it is hard out there, and I wish you luck. I would see if you can transfer to another field.

A lot fewer job descriptions require vaccines now than 2022.

I'm still unvaccinated and not willing to get a vaccine because if I do that I could still get made redundant the next day ("at will" employer)

Exhibition Hub emailed me about Guest Services to set up a phone interview and i answered.

She did not get back to me. That was one week ago.

my whole worthless corpse has gone weak, numb, and limp a long time ago.

the public transportation where i live is pretty good, but only for some destinations and only during certain hours. and public transportation still takes a lot of time, $$$ and energy. exhausted all the time. have to be close to a Litterbox at all times. just the schedule and public transportation alone makes it really hard to get any sort of job.

i looked up companies that are allegedly autism friendly and tried applying to some of them.

on the other hand, home depot was on the list, and i already work there.

"autism friendly" is too vague. home depot has hand dryers in the litterbox that are so loud, and not "autism friendly" per se. the more ambiguous their statements, the more skepticism necessary.

but there were only a couple of companies on the list, and the vast majority of the companies too far away to work there, or i don't have enough job skills to work there. mostly software engineering and banks. not unskilled restaurant./retail/sales.

i am so afraid of getting made redundant from home depot.

two weeks ago, ASM Gabriel had the nerve to tell me that i did not get a job interview for Tool Rental Lead b/c Supervisor Angela-idiot had the nerve to write me up for "walking around listening to music". (rolls eyes). gabriel said that, until the write up "falls off" in november (if i haven't gotten made redundant by then), i won't be allowed to transfer to jobs with a higher salary. in the meantime, i could transfer to jobs with the same salary, but there is just one job with the same salary, and it is Cashier, and there are zero job openings right now (although they have had plenty of new cashiers).

applied for a couple jobs.

scheduled a job interview for thursday. the job description said that Utility Workers have to be able to work a wide variety of hours. due to public transportation, i can't do that. but it might be a nice little "field trip" over there, and good job interview practice. whatever.

on the other hand, i haven't taken a shower since February 2023, so whatever.

Utility worker job interview, uneventful.

___________

Scheduled a job interview for tomorrow but the job description didn't list the name of the company and I am afraid that if I go there, someone will have the nerve to scam all my chump change

Went to job interview for Receptionist accounting clerk. It didn't look like a scam. Everything and everyone looked normal and legitimate. Nobody asked for financial credentials or anything unusual. He said that if I get on the short list he will contact me in one month. Otherwise no contact

Applied for a couple of random jobs: restaurants retail sales, administrative assistant

Minimum wage, unskilled labor, jobs. Grunt work

Just today, sent an inquiry through The Arc's portal about its job training program

The Arc phoned yesterday and failed to leave a message. No email. But whatever

Grid Alternatives set up a phone interview for next week

Learn to Code emailed me and I answered and it emailed me again

Otherwise it feels like sending job applications into a black hole

The only reason why anyone will ever offer my worthless corpse a job: clerical error

Bart
Kforce
Riivos
Mistakenly offered me jobs

My worthless corpse:
Academically stupid
Physically weak
Mentally slow
Clinically depressed
Autistic
Socially awkward
Zero job skills
Exhausted all the time

On the other hand plenty of undocumented immigrants and convicted felons earn enough $$$ for families and cars

How do they do it?

the grid (americorps), phone interview thursday. (construction). don't feel comfortable with the driving. it says anyone without a murder conviction or something like that could apply. do not feel comfortable with working on rooftops with convicted felons b/c i am afraid that i might make a wrong statement or action and a convicted felon decides to shove me off the roof. (but WTF ever. no job is perfect. there is no such thing as perfection. and even if the job were perfect, it wouldn't be hiring me. and even if it did hire me, "at will" employer. the whole thing is an "uphill battle". i've been wounded).

chipotle, crew member, in person interview, next thursday.

tomorrow, got three job interviews scheduled:

chipotle, crew member. (do not wanna work with prepared foods or in a restaurant, b/c of eating disorder. but, b/c of home depot's most recent antics, whatever. besides, this job closer to my house, and more Litterboxes near the job.) there is something seriously wrong w/everything.

brilliant earth, retail salesman, jewelry. (paranoid it might be a scam).

levy restaurants, warehouse. (don't wanna work in a restaurant, but this job is in a university w/plenty of Litterboxes. also much closer to my house, and in a safer location, and more polite customers).
__________________________________________________________________________

otherwise, in the news, it says that plenty of companies, mass firings/layoffs. terrified home depot will promote me to Customer. ("at will" employer). head cashiers keep telling me that i am not going to get made redundant. but head cashiers only earn one buck more per hour than me, so they might not be competent enough to justify their confidence.

on the other hand, other companies might be much worse than home depot in ways that there is no way for me to know about until i work there.

and besides, been applying for jobs for a longfuck time and none of them will make the mistake of hiring my worthless corpse.

The two week notice is more of a courtesy than a requirement unless maybe if it is in your employment agreement that you signed.

Unless the employer is ready to pay you for the two weeks (or more) if they fire you or lay you off, then they should not expect you to extend more courtesy to them than they would to you.

I know one guy who gave a year's notice once and the company was ticked off when he left at the end of that year's notice.
