I do; it's a proofreader, followed by similar jobs such as copywriter or technical writer.

My ideal job is librarian with communications and IT on the side. And thank heaven, I have that job!

A solitary job with very little to no supervision. A job I ended up getting even if it wasn't in my degree studies but then again most times what we did in school doesn't necessarily transition to what job we ultimately get.

My ideal job would be a good gig as an actor.

In terms of a more 'common' job, it is not enough to live off of as of now, but I really enjoy selling online. Some of the good things about being a reseller for me are:

-I work when I want too.
-I am my own boss.
-Quiet workspace.
-It's cool seeing where your items go. I have shipped stuff as close by as a few towns over to as far away as Australia.
-I enjoy going out and sourcing i.e. buying items to resell.
-Learn a lot about business.
-It is never a bad thing to turn 50 cents into $110.

Computer programmer, Software developer or IT technician

All of which need a degree, which I don't have so that pretty much makes me useless to every employer as I have no other skills to give, I can be social and stuff but not enough to hold a job (for more than a week). IT technician on the other hand has mostly been outsourced to other countries which would be virtually impossible to commute.

I tried my hand in Data Entry alongside Graphic Design for a month as work experience, the software packages they used were too complex to understand, like the windows 95 format is used - probably due to funding. Suffice to say it was not for me, too much office politics, social cohesion, I had to greet everyone even if I wasn't working with them and they were 10 desks away and everything was open plan.

So even in an office environment to balance out the social side of business, instead of dealing with the public you have to deal with the internal customers like your boss, co-workers and random meetings and seminars where you would occasionally be in groups of 5-6 people to do some ice-breaking activities / awareness of current events, I even had a seminar about mental health consisting of the whole office building to raise awareness of mental health. At the time I was dealing with much older people who had been working there for at least 20 years or so, I didn't disclose my mental illness, though I think they would be the sort of people who would be understanding of it if I did. I think its the younger generation who won't be as lenient about it, or the people who don't understand it or are ignorant about it.

I still need to research jobs that I can do in the meantime and look for an ideal job once I have secured a paid role.

My ideal job would be to work with birds -- in my dearest dream I'm running some kind of rescue centre for wild birds and waterfowl. I just want to spend all my time around birds. I already do spend regular time and it's the most healing hours of my life, they lift my spirits.

But I'd have to be running it, rather than be just a staff member getting bossed around by co-workers and bosses. I'd have to have help, and a vet, but basically I want to be the main hands-on person.

My only worry is this job would entail dealing with other people, as I couldn't do it all alone.

So failing that, my next ideal job would be something where I can work from home entirely alone with no supervision, self employed, freelance, but something that actually makes me a healthy enough living that I'm able to do well and rely on it completely. I've thought about proof reading but is it still needed these days? I have no idea.

I'm trying to find out. Something very people-oriented for sure, but playing to my strengths (which are sadly but unsurprisingly not people-oriented). I've increasingly been thinking a medical career is the way to go. EMT into RN or Physician Assistant, maybe?

hell no I don't and never have

I've always hated the question "so what do you want to be when you grow up?" and I never really had an answer but I guess I was right .

To rescue abandoned pets and take care of animals :) seems like it could be a very rewarding career to pursue.

Yeah. I work with art and run a pub. That's more than good enough for me.

Never figured it out. Just shuffled through less than ideal ones, or outright awful ones.

Anything which doesn't mark me as mentally defective would qualify as ideal to me, especially if I get not to have psychologists meddling with every single aspect of my life as if I were a toddler.

I think that has to do with behavior, not career choice.

If I had an answer to that question, I would be pursuing that job/career right now.

My disabilities limit me alot with employment. I worked as a dishwasher & did not like it. I had two jobs in the custodial field in retail & I didn't mind it when management left me alone to do my job.
