I can't afford any education courses. I don't get free courses because I have higher than Level 3 qualifications. I cannot learn those skills as I have no means to afford to learn them. I definitely WANT to do some kind of continuing education but I don't have thousands of pounds lying around to pay for it.

It doesn't matter if there are so-called "positive", it is up to the EMPLOYER to chose to EMPLOY you. Employers see AS as toxic, extremely bad. I wish that wasn't the case either.
