OK, so I seriously need you guys help
Am i missing something here?
Well, in my case there is one thing that can change a lot of those things: sensory overload and the resulting mental shutdown.
I am AS. I don't like being in the room with a TV blaring, (as soon as everyone leaves I turn everything off, even fans! ) or spending a lot of time in cowded places like malls. Too long at a party gets wearisome. But I LOVE to drive!
I LOVE cars too, and only recently went to an automatic :p after years of stick-shifts (shoulder problem). I love tiny sports cars, no SUV for me. I like response. From the car. I name my cars and think of them sort of like friends who take me places. It's me and my car. I wash them all the time and take good care of them, and I do not have accidents (30+ years).
The time spent every day in my car (45 minutes each way) is Perfect Alone Time. You can really think in the car. Once you know the route it's all on auto-pilot. Even an expressway becomes a thing you don't really see after awhile. Sometimes I kind of wake up and don't remember passing anything! Not that I was actually asleep. Some roads are trickier than others, but do it every day and you'll become a pro. You'll know every curve, every pothole and bump.
The only thing I have trouble with is longer trips. I can do a 4-5 hour drive, but then I need to stay where I got to for a day or two before I can drive home. I can't drive 10 hours the way some can. My upper limit for daily commuting is about an hour. One time I tried a 90 minute commute and only lasted 3 months it tired me so much. Under an hour I'm great. You need to find out where your abilities lie by actually doing it. And not just for a week or a month. It can be a long adjustment period.
