For your Target job, any job with multiple supervisors is awful. No matter what you do, you're always going to piss one of them off, because they all have conflicting demands. My friend worked at Shopko for a couple weeks one time. He was in the electronics department, and that supervisor told him not to leave no matter what. Then the general manager comes and chides him for "standing around" and tells him to go do something else. Then when my friend got back, the electronics supervisor chewed him out for leaving the department. :?

As for your second job, since you seemed to like it, I doubt you actually had a depressing demeanor. Employers are idiots. They can regard anything that's not Stepford wife-like as "depressing". Did your boss say it was having a bad effect on business or anything? I doubt it, because it wasn't. As long as you're quick, efficient and aren't a dick to people, 99.9% of them aren't going to care if you're not constantly smiling (or even smiling at all). This cashier at my local grocery store obviously hates her life, but it doesn't stop me from shopping there! Yeah, like I said, employers are idiots.

Since you're actually able to find jobs in these dark times, I'm sure you'll find something soon enough that isn't horrible.

It's called collective punishment.

It's called "a crock of s**t that nobody should have to put up with with for any length of time."
Why do you put up with it, just out of curiosity?

Imposing double standards is one of the oldest persecution tactics in the book.

I think.. you're being too hard on yourself. You only have a highschool education? You're only 19. Most graduate at 18, I know someone who took a break at 18 and waited until he was 19 to start college.

Also you have had 2 jobs? I don't know how long you've had them but i'm 25 (turning 26 this month) and have just had 2. I am also now only starting college due to abuse and my ability to not function at school.

Your bosses interpreted your tone? The whole social reason for firing you (unless you weren't being social with customers which is a no-no) seems very off to me.

Also keep in mind, you've been looking but you're only 19. You had your first job.. what 2 years ago? Many places are very hesitant to hire anyone under the age of 19 just because they are unable to operate a lot of machinery.

I'm sorry for your difficulties as relating to autism and the fact that you were fired.
