1. They abruptly changed the schedule from 8 hours to 12 hours. This unnerved me.
2. A lot of us, myself included, were unfairly written up for punching out late. We actually had no choice because we couldn't leave our work undone.
3. The new employees which I was training were being paid more than me. I'd been doing the job for years and most of them had just graduated from school!
You can't win.

Great management you had there.

Mine was a RIF, like a lot of peoples'. I think we had a particularly unnecessary RIF that cut all the wrong people, but such is life.

For me: Routine/Start-Up problems, time/planning-problems.

For some reason, i can't find a correctly balance in it, because i'm always too slow, and then upon another day when it's get more difficult, ..suddenly i complete all the orders. That's why employers can not count on me, constantly.

I handed in my notice after they tried severely increasing my workload and cutting my pay at the same time. That was one of the best decisions of my life. I went self-employed and now earn far more than I would have if I had stayed and I enjoy my work much more.

What where they? And especially, where some of them due to any sort of external interference - meaning not your fault but someone acting deliberately to get you out of your job?

I lost it because of my lack of attention to details. Just got swamped and did a whole bunch of mistakes. This might seem out of place given the purpose of this forum, but I don't consider myself an Aspie despite the many things I seem to have in common with the condition.

so were you actually fired? or just laid off, released, let go, well i got released, let go from my Target job last Fall, which was only a seasonal job, which usually means temporary, and i was not given the choice, option to stay, most of the seasonal employees were released, let go, only a few were allowed to stay

I only had my last job for 3months. I was a custodian & had problems doing certain aspects of the job because of a tremor disorder. I started seeing a neurologist about it(I had seen one years ago) the 1st medication made me sick. I felt like I was having a stroke at work so I went home. I saw my GP the next day & he took me off the med & scheduled me to have test ran. He didn't say much about what happened except that my blood-pressure got to low & i should sip coke & eat a little candy when i started feeling faint or dizzy. I didn't feel safe going back to work not knowing if I would suddenly feel numbness & faint again & also having problems performing my job. After being out two weeks I was let go due to company policy but the manger said he would take me back if I applied again. I tried a couple more meds & I had problems with them so I quit seeing the neurologist & just accepted that I wouldn't go back to that job.

I was forced out of the job I had before that one. I worked at WalMart. I was originally hired to stock but I had problems with it so I was transferred to floor-cleaning/maintenance after a couple days. I had mentioned my tremors & having a low vision disorder to them during my interview so they may of been worried about the disabilities act or keeping a quota or getting tax breaks but also they saw I was trying & floor-cleaning was kind of the grunt department. People who had problems working in other departments or people who were slacking off were sometimes transferred to ours. I had problems catching on at 1st but after a while I leaned the basics well & was a real go-getter. Anyways a couple people transferred to other stores or quit & one got fired so our department became short handed after a while. Eventually a contract crew was hired to assist us. They striped & waxed the floors for us & we were basically ordered to stay out of their way. They did crappy work thou & made some messes that my department had to clean up. Our store also had some management changes & the worst manager got promoted to co-manager after we had lost the other 2 co-managers & our head manager got promoted to some district position so the worst manager was acting head manager for a while rite after she had got promoted to co. Lots of the workers had problems with that & some quit & our department got dumped on even more. We got pulled off to assist in other departments or had to go behind the contract crew & then we got fussed for not doing the work we were supposed to. Me & a couple others were working a lot of over-time to help out; I was averaging 55hours a week & sh!t hit the fan between Christmas & New Year. A manager pulled me off to move some things back that had gotten moved for the contract crew & she ordered me to ignore all other orders that didn't come from her. The co-head manager had me paged to do something but she didn't make the page herself so I ignored it like I had been ordered to. I passed by her rite after I was done & she chewed me out & didn't even give me a chance to explain. I quit after I finished all my work because I couldn't deal with it anymore. A couple nights latter my supervisor was transferred to another department & a guy in ours who also had disabilities quit. The few left in the department were dissolved into others & the contract crew took over. I feel I was forced out because of my disabilities; I would of had problems working in other departments & they couldn't fire me because of the disabilities act.

I was scheduled to close then open then told I had no choice-- I had to work whatever schedule was made up for me. I suddenly acquired "family problems" and never went back to work.

I reported the improper storage, transport, and disposal of some very hazardous materials, and the company could no longer make payroll due to all of the fines, legal fees, and disposal costs.

39 people lost their jobs.
