What was the first job you ever had?

My first paid job was doing customer service with First Great Western i liked the job as i was providing train timetables also giving out local information and giving out directions but left that job due to my health.

I worked nightfill as a dishwasher at a mcdonalds. I got to wash and clean all the utensils from the day, scrub the grills and even clean the drip trays. I was 14.

my first job was student assistant in a computer lab on my college campus. Whether people liked me or were weirded out by me, they absolutely loved me when I saved their documents or helped them find or print out materials they needed. This was the most directly-rewarding job i've ever had. It only paid $6/hr back in 2002 but it was awesome and I loved it. Since then I have dropped out of that college, lost that job because i quit college, and I'm now working for $10/hr maintaining apartment buildings in the ghetto. The work is both straight up vile, degrading, and quite physically demanding and I hear a lot more complaining and nasty comments than I do "thank you's". I should have stayed in college and I think back to my first job all the time. But then again I don't know how many "computer labs" there still are out there... since everyone has a laptop now

Security guard, worked for a private security company that contracted out to different companies, so my job was located at a local newspaper press at the loading docks primarily. It lasted all of 3 months, the hours were awful. My schedule was as follows

Sunday: 4pm-Midnight
Monday: Day off
Tuesday: Midnight-8am
Wednesday: Midnight-8am
Thursday: Day off.
Friday: 8pm-Midnight
Saturday: 4pm-Midnight

Same thing, every week, switching between swing shift and grave shift and back.

It was so boring.

Fast food joint. Learned some valuable life skills, but I will never work in that industry again!

My first paid job was as an usher in a theatre. I had to direct people to their seats and sell ice creams from a tray at the interval.
