I hope this is on topic enough, although it's a tiny diversion.
In the same vein of writing fiction, some might want to consider "writing" games for mobile devices.
Surely a person can write around 50,000 "words" of code for a game like angry birds.
I think the development and publishing process can be considered to be very similar as well.

To starkid and willard, I think you're both missing the point. There is a huge market for fiction, why not make some money from it.

I have written several novels in the space of 4-6 weeks. But that is only a first draft. It takes me longer to edit and revise what I have written and fix plot holes and make characters more vivid and believable.

I am thinking of self publishing one day but I have to wait until I am satisfied with what I have written.

Any chance you can let us know what your books are called and we can check them out?
