You should have told them your opinion. I did that once and I almost became supervisor at my old job. They even said that I was considered because I had balls but in the end I was trumped by someone who had far more years of experience in the company than me. Many people dislike the new supervisor. Some people even wished I would have become the supervisor because while I may be harsh at times, I was more sympathetic than the other candidate. I lost the job because they failed to put me in a different department after my department got shut down. Now they said that I could maybe be like a substitute supervisor on a three month contract while the other one is on parental leave. I said three months at 1900 Euros a month wont cut it. Plus I wouldn't have the proper training for the job anymore unless they simply need a motivator. Maybe I can hope that they get back to me when their current supervisor leaves in a year or so.
