HELP! I think I pissed off my boss!
I really pissed my boss off on Friday but for a damn good reason. There is a problem with a machine design that poses a serious safety and productivity issue and I am trying to force a change that he doesn't want. My boss is a frustrated wanna be academic who gets obssessed with the theoretical aspects of the process. He is not a hands on, get down and dirty engineer. He likes to wear his nice, expensive suits and sit in an ivory tower. I and the operators love to "accidently" get his clothes dirty because we know his wife will kick his ass. My change goes against the theory but will get the job done safely and profitably. Sometimes theories just have no place in the real world. The owners of the company are getting impatient with the delays and so is everyone else. I would also be remiss in my duties if I did not voice my concerns. We can't move forward if the company doesn't make money and we're all out of a job if someone gets killed. Most of the time I don't make waves but there are times when you have to.
