At work today, an old co-worker came back to visit because he recently joined the ARMY. We we talking to other people in the room with him and I joined. He talked about his first drill sergant being touch guy with a psych major. I also asked if he had made any friends. He replied yes and then I told him about another friend of mine wanting to set me up with another soldier. My supervisor then told me that, "A segant with a psych major would have nothing to do with me. Someone else laughed at me so I just left the room and broke down crying. Did I do the right thing?

There is no right or wrong, when it comes to your feelings. That was just how you felt! Please, go easy on yourself. 8)

Wow, that was a mean thing to say!! I don't know what else you could have done under the circumstances. Leaving was probably the best thing to do so you could have a chance to get away from the situation and get yourself together. It was probably much better to do that then sit there and cry in front of your boss and tell your boss that he/she hurt your feelings. It's always hard to come up with a snappy comeback under circumstances like that. Hugs to you.

What kind of an insult was that?! That was just uncalled for unprofessional and MEAN. How bout this? my co-worker was there when I had a CLIENT who was in the Army... he turns to the client and tells him that I could never 'make it' in the military because 'you have to take orders'. What a jerk! he was eventually fired but none too soon for us.
