Yeah, I know a few people who work there, all of them say it's a pretty decent job, but as with any other it depends on who the manager is and how they treat their employees.

I dunno... As of late I've been telling the fourteen year old's disaffected friends "go lengthwise - not across..." I get the nastiest looks.

At the hottopic nearest me the workers are all EXTREMELY nice and helpful. At hottopic there is also no dress code/uniforms and it's probably okay to be a bit different. I would think it better for an aspie to work at than other retail stores.

Hot Topic are different in each location. I mean, if emo is big in one town, the local Hot Topic franchise in the mall is all emo, and if they are into BDSM, the HotTopic in that area is all leather and chains and furry handcuffs. I went into a Hot Topic in Duluth, MN and it had a whole section full of Sailor Moon black light posters, so it all depends on where you are.

i mostly re-arrange items, greet people in and out the store and tell them about the discounts and what not. i still have the fear of managing the cashier, though. :oops:

well, i wore a Take That band t-shirt and no one here in the US has even heard of them let alone sell them, so it's allowed at Hot Topic.
there really isn't a dress code, just don't wear anything offensive to the company or to the public. like wearing anything Nazi related for instance.
