Hypothesis: the level of office politik will be inversely proportional to the amount of practical work in the job.

True? I've never had a job (I'm 15), so I don't have any evidence yet, which is why I'm asking people who have had jobs.

Also, what sorts of jobs have lower levels of politik?

I think it depends more on the quality of management than anything else. Some managers get off on that crap and others won't tolerate it at all.

a valid hypothesis in my experience. the level of maturity is also inversely proportional to the level of politicking that takes place
