I've got an interview this morning, for a small software house about 2 miles from where I live, compared to my current job which is 37 miles away. Wish me luck! Nervous as hell, but can only do my best.

Thanks Bonny.

It went well I thought, got feedback from the recruitment agent that they were happy with me. They said they'll need to decide between me and someone they saw last week, should hear back today or tomorrow.

It was pretty informal, more like a chat really. Have a feeling they'll offer it to the other person, or if they offer it to me they won't offer enough money. Prepared to take a small pay cut as I'll save loads from petrol but not a big amount.

I think I'd enjoy the job though.

Hi HauntedKnight,
To save on travelling time and money is valuable, true. I travelled up to 2-3 hours for various jobs. (That's return trip)
Yes it cost, in lots of ways. At that time in my life it brought in good returns and lots of work. I'm glad i'm not doing it anymore. Working close to home has its own challenges.

You sound as if you've got your ball rolling on finding the job for you, even if this particular position goes to the other person. That's the strategy that anchors one from being tossed around the work place. I now tend to think that people with ASD are pretty well made for generating our own ways of meeting needs. Sorry about clumsy words, neighbour's calling.! Cheers to you.
