nervous about finding my niche in the job market..
would love to hear some positive stories.
For the past 10 months I've been working as a teachers assistant in a low functioning special ed classroom. Its been hell with spending 6 hours a day non stop with kids all over the places and a large amount of co workers around me at all times. The co workers have been great but problems with executive dyfunctioning and changes in the schedules has been causing me hassles. I'm a mathematical savant and this is the furtherest thing from where my skills lie...in face this job uses all the opposite skills. I know down the road i will find my niche but until than im trying to have as much hope as possible. I'm only 23 years old so i still have time but i'd love to hear from older aspies who have found jobs that worked for them and how they came across them, especially ones who like me have great math skills but struggles in some social and executive functioning issues..how did you make it work?
