I have been one for almost 3 years now. I play almost exclusively in tournaments, nothing too big, but I grind out a lot of tables in any particular session. A typical weekday session will have me playing 10-20 tournaments, generally peaking at 12 tables. Saturdays are a little heavier, but Sundays are the big day. On Sundays, I'll play 20-40 tournaments, sometimes getting up to 20 tables at a time.

To be honest, I'm hurting a little right now, but I've gone through two slumps already in my career, and I've had no trouble bouncing back. It's just that way with tournaments, there is a whole lot of variance. I play under the handle skeptix.

I'd say 95% of my play is online. I've been down to Vegas twice now (not exactly an aspie's paradise). There isn't much as far as live poker is concerned locally, so I have to travel for anything significant.

I notice you're in NY. How do you manage to play the online poker if onine gaming is illegal in the US?

I'm not a gambler, but good on you for getting out there and doing something.

I won a HORSE tournament. HORSE is a 5-game format with Hold Em, Omaha Hi/Lo, Razz, Stud Hi, and Stud Hi/Lo

johnners, I do not live in NY. It's actually not illegal for people to play online in the US, it has to do with the bank and credit card companies being required to block transactions (which they can't really).

Well, for the Sportsbook tournament, it's their big monthly tournament. They guarantee a prize pool of $250,000, but in this case, there were only 909 players that paid $250+20. The $250 goes to prize pool, and the $20 is the fee you pay the site to play the tournament. 909 multiplied by $250 is just under $250,000, so Sportsbook had to pony up what we call an "overlay".

I'm not sure that helped at all. Basically, almost 1000 people paid put $250 each into the prize pool. That is how it got so large.

Took me about a month to figure out how to win a small amount. Took me another 3+ years before I really learned to the point of making a living.

It may seem like I'm tooting my own horn, but it's really important for me to maintain a positive attitude, and sharing with others is a large part of that. This was my best week since I started playing. Caught about another $6500 profit today spread over 3 final tables. I haven't done all the math, but when all is said and done I'm looking at about $35,000 profit for the last 8 days.

Won a $22 one rebuy, one add-on tournament for just over $6000. Regular tournaments start with 3000 chips, but this tournament gives you 3000 chips for the initial $22, plus the option of rebuying an additional 3000 chips for $20, followed by the option to addon an additional 4500 chips for $20 after the first hour of the tournament. This means stacks are much larger, and such, there is much more skill involved. Took me a good eight hours, which is a long time for a tournament of that size.
