i have a new boss where i work. she's completely screwing everything up! she's fixed up the schedules according to when we could work when we applied there (nearly a year ago) and it's ALL MESSED UP. right now, i'm doing track, we have practices until 5:30, so i can't work most weekdays. I could work friday nights but that's a WEEKEND. we can't work all weekends now! and when i mentioned i couldn't work tuesdays and thursdays the store manager FLIPPED OUT at me! she told me i'm irresponsible, that i haven't been pulling my weight around here, when the thing is i just don't have the f*****g time. i think it's absolutely unfair of her to do this to me! doesn't she realize i'm only a high school junior with a whole future of jobs ahead of me, with a goal in life that amounts to being much more than she is right now, more than just a mere retail employee? i mean what the f**k

i'd honestly love to quit, but i need the money desperately. i'm saving up for a summer program and my parents are letting me pay for half of it. i'm pretty close, but they'd appreciate it if i could pay for as much as possible. it would make them respect me a whole lot more as well. should i just take a leave of absence until track ends in may? will i be able to start that like this weekend even though the schedule has already come up? i really hope so. i think i've missed the chance to apply for jobs which start immediately (or at least at the end of may). it's not fair.

i don't get why they're doing this. it sucks. i'll take any advice. i'm desperate

Tell her that you can only work the following days. Can you found times on those days when I can work ask her. If not could be time or it will be time to find a more flexiable employer ? No amount of money is worth the rage this is causing you.

Agreed. And nothing is more important than school. Having jobs take on that kind of priority in your life is for after college. You do not have to take that kind of abuse!
