After being out of work for almost a year, I've found an almost perfect job.

I'm working as a copy editor for a publisher of crosswords and puzzle books.
The pros:
I work mostly independently.
I have clearly stated deadlines and priorities.
My phone never rings. I share a phone with a part-timer who works 2 days a week. She gets more calls than I do, which is to say, more than zero.
I get about 10 work related emails a week.
A good part of the day is spent checking facts on the internet.

The cons:
I make about $24k a year. Not quite enough to move out of my father-in-law's or replace my '95 Honda Civic.
I use a computer almost as old as the aforementioned '95 Honda Civic.
They're using a custom editing software from about 1990, and it won't run on anything newer than Windows 98.
