I'm telling the truth as I know it. I'm not a smiler and the smiling people were offended. My sister isn't a smiler either, and it showed up on her Performance Review "Never smiles."
I said somewhere in the book that it's not that you *should* want an office job - it's that maybe you already do want one, what with salary and paid vacations and sick leave etc.
And at the very beginning, I said it's an acting job. If you want the salary, play the role. I wrote this book to tell people how, so they don't waste getting fired over small things,
Two publishers told me to cheer it up, make it jolly - but I'm trying to tell everybody the truth. The book tells it like it is. If you're willing to play the role for the salary, go for it. If not, at least you found out in time!
