I read on Wikipedia that according to Department of Defense Memo 613003p, Aspies are no longer qualified to serve in the US military. While this is quite a relief (if drafted, I would never make it through basic training), I turn 18 soon, and am wondering what the procedure is for applying for the draft in this condition. Is there a disability exemption I have to fill out?

You still have to fill out the forms. The only time this would come up is if the instituted the draft and your number came up.

Every man has to register with the Selective Service System, even if you already know you are ineligible for military service. Failure to do so is a felony. Exemptions will be handled as necessary if/when the draft starts up.

May I ask where you saw that on Wikipedia? I have found no mention of Department of Defense Memo 613003p.

They serve the same way the gays do. Don't ask don't tell covers basically anything, if you feel the need to stretch it.

You fill out your USSS forms and get your draft card the same as anybody else. I still have mine around here somewhere, and in some jurisdictions you must carry it on you (I recall there are at least 2 in rural Indiana), although those laws are no longer enforced.

Or in my case, they just didn't know they had it.

But even if you aren't qualified due to AS, you still have to register. Don't worry though, we've been an all-volunteer military since after Vietnam, and I don't see that changing unless WW3 starts.
