Hi all,
I work full time and was wondering if anyone else has trouble with the amount of hours. Sometimes i feel so overwhelmed that my mind feels almost numb. I work as a therapist for autistic kids at a sprcial school. I Think that its because im constantly trying to figure out what to do and use my initiative which is definately not my strong point and i also feel like im having to put on an act all day and be "professional" "normal" and do everything thats expected of me. I dont know i just find it all really hard, stresfull and tiring. it really gets me down and i feel drained and miserable.

Our brains tend to go on overload a lot quicker than most. Eight hours a day is a LOT!! to be on all the time, and we have it a lot harder having to pretend and figure out what to do , i have that problem too, you're not the only one. since you're working with ASD kids maybe your employers would be understanding if you wanted to cut some of your hours or get more breaks or something? do they know of your AS?
good luck
Kate

I don't have to worry about that because I am going to be getting a part time job so I don't lose my SSI.

For some reason, hours do not often get to me. I work as a cashier ina grocery store and one day my shift was 8am to 5pm, one of the closers called out so i offered to stay until 1030pm fourteen and a half hours. after that i stilll had a ton of energy, caffeine works wonders.

However, at the start of a shift i feel as if it will last forever, i gotta quit looking at the clock

I don't mind working 8 hours but I do wish I could work as long as I want but when I try doing it, I get all stressed inside. I'm trying to overcome that.
