Ok i've tried to get a job with target but i can't seem to ace their questionaire test. Does anyone have the answers?? I find this test VERY annoying & headache & it's decriminative against people on the spectrum or anyone who has a disablity. I tried to ask target do they have any other test besides the questionaire or is there a alternative. I think they only go by the questionaire & what you put on the application. They told me there's no way around it. I could do the job just as great as anyone at Target but i still can't get passed the dang application to get the job. I've tried and tried & i really want this job. Any advice or suggestions??

I think it discriminates against anyone with a personality, lol. So many people just lie on those tests. I've never been asked to interview at Target. From the looks of that test, I don't think I really care. I wish I knew how to beat it...maybe take notes and stay consistent. I may be very wrong, but I think they'd prefer "team players" or "people-people." I may be wrong.

Okay, how to (POTENTIALLY) game the stupid questionaire.
HONESTY questions:
Most people are honest.
Most people are good.
Most people would not steal.
That's what they want to hear. The (naive) assumption if that if you view the world as predominantly good, you'll do good, whereas if you have a more realistic view, you might steal. (Of course, the world is a mixed bag, both good and bad! We are no that.)
A number of questions is it okay to steal in different questions. No, I would not steal in a box, No, I would not steal with green eggs and ham. No, I would not steal even if I was treated unfairly by a manager in a way that cost me money. I hate those questions. But the correct answer is, No, I would not steal.
Most people have done something wild they regret? They want you to answer no. This is uber goody two-shoes across the board.
Most people have gotten angry enough that they might hit someone? In their own clumsy way, they are trying to screen for employees who are potentially violent. Correct answer: No, most people would not do this.
SOCIAL questions: I think you've pretty much hit the nail on the head.
Rather go to a party or read alone? Always pick the more sociable answer.
Feel comfortable going up to strangers initiating conversation? Yes, feel very comfortable.
UBER GOODY TWO SHOE QUESTIONS:
It is ever acceptable being late? Obviously, if you have to take someone to the hospital or if you're merely consoling a friend, but honest to gosh the "correct" answer is no.
Have you ever been late at a previous job?
Wow. Wow. How unrealistic . . . .... And you would think a more realistic answer, yes, once or twice, but don't give that answer. If you can bring yourself to lie, go ahead and lie, no, I was not late to a previous job. (I think of it as a lie of deflection)
And really, I take punctuality seriously, I will stop at a grocery store down the street from a work place, sit in the car, passenger windows slightly down, driver windows just barely cracked as I read or write in my car, maybe putting my stuff down, getting out to stretch whatever, so I'll arrive at work that optimum time 8 to 10 minutes, I still think it's okay to tell a lie of deflection. You are so heavily judged by timeliness, yes, I am willing to play the game in this regard. I'm also willing to game the application!
PS Down the road, consider furniture sales or car sales, might make considerably more money, although the income is way up and down.
I don't know what the Target survey is based on, but most of the more sophisticated surveys have questions placed in there to tell if you are lying. An example of one I use in interviews:
Imagine the person you love most in the world. Imagine that you are working with this person in a factory that processes chicken breasts. This person you love dearly is starving to death because he or she does not make enough money at this job that he or she hates. You catch him or her stealing chicken breasts to take home and eat. Do you tell your boss?
The correct answer is actually "No". Any other answer and I would not hire you as I know you are lying.

But that's not Target. Target wants uber straight forward, uber goody-two-shoes. Yes, that would be stealing, regardless of the circumstances. Yes, I would tell my boss.
(I worked at a dept. store last Christmas, similar 'questionaire.' Worked at another dept. store this Christmas. But, who really knows. I do not claim to be an expert, but this has been my experience. On these questionaires, as straight down the line as you can. Keep it very simple.)
Target is the worst place I ever worked at. You get yelled at 9 out of 10 times no matter what you do. Their training is laughable. I had five weeks of training to work part time at block buster and five whole minutes for a full time target. You will be yelled at if you ask for extra training. you will be yelled at if you make a mistake. YOU ARE yelled at for asking for extra help and you will be fired if you dare walk into a back room to fight off a melt down. you can be hired to work toys and find your self in food all the time. you willl be a cashir even if you tell them you cant work it.

I work there. I dont know the answers to the questionnaire since you will never be given a sheet with checks next to the ones you got right, but I just told them what they wanted to hear, Im an honest - hard working - outgoing ideal human being. Thats how you get past that road block.
In the interview(s) I was less depressed than normal at the time and managed to smile enough for the three interviewers to get hired.
I took it because its the first and only job I could find. Your training is laughable as previously stated - you're not getting trained by a manager, you're getting trained by a customer service rep, or 'Team Member' whos not getting paid more to train in addition to their regular work. I was a trainer for like a month (after only working there for 6 months), and I thought I did a terrible job because I just didnt have enough time - but my bosses said I was the best one. I quit doing that and they were puzzled as to why.
The job sucks - minimum wage in your area, customers treat you like you are Target incarnate (and no one likes big corporations), and stressful work (at least in my position in the fresh food section). I turned down a promotion because it entailed more responsibility and more hours, which is too stressful. But then again, I have anxiety issues. They asked me so many times as if they didnt believe me when I said no. I havent found another job yet, so here I am. Ugh.
Also, more then likely you will be bouncing around all areas of the store for any given shift, I'm lucky to have a locked in position in our grocery section. There is also the option of grueling physical work overnight where you haul s**t around and stock from 10-11pm - 6-8am.
Food for thought.
Those tests were developed out of Cold War Game Theory techniques. Taking simple surface-observable behaviors, removing human judgement, and relying on computers to scan through black-and-white data (would you like to be a race car driver? yes or no) and form a diagnosis.
