I'm 20 years old and thinking of pursuing a education in psychology or psychiatry. But being easily irritated by other people, i dont think I could be a traditional psychotherapist. The only people i can relate to are children, so ive been considering a field in child psychology or even being a specialist in ASDs, but first i want to know what other fields are out there. Can anyone help me? Are there any Aspies with similar interests or any who are already working in the field?

Maybe you could go the research side, more of the theoretical.
Specialisations in children might be an option too.

I used to study for social worker, until I got ill.

I would say research as well, or alternatively perhaps aiming for a private practice as a clinical psychologist.
