All right; I'm going to be going back to school this fall to retrain for a new career. I can only afford spend one year in school full time and I already have a BA that I can't really use. My main issue is math and science are NOT my strong points and I'm relatively computer illiterate. My obsessions lie more in the social sciences but most fields that involve studying the social science lead to jobs which require very good social skills which of course, as an Apsie, can only fake for very limited periods.

Here are four of the fields I'm considering getting a certificate in at my local community college. The classes are very affordable but it's the time component that's a major factor as I won't be working while I'm in school until I get an internship.

1) Paralegal Studies
2) Bookkeeping/Accounting (more basic math and clerical work than advanced math that programming requires)
3) Health Information Technology
4) Freelance writing

I am going to see my career counselor next week to talk to her about the pros and cons of each of these professions but before I go, I thought I'd try posting on here to see if anyone had any other suggestions.

Thanx,

Allie Kat
