but not pay for the website, use a free one like http://www.moonfruit.com/ ??????????

If you want to do anything serious on the net, buy a domain name, server and set up Wordpress, Joomla or something. Getting anywhere on-line is largely a matter of creating a strong on-line persona or second self. You need to learn to write, then find a subject which people are interested in. Focus on improving yourself and your art first and foremost, not on making money.

Oh, and don't bother with static HTML websites, there an absolute b*ch to maintain. And dont bother learning to code and writing your own CMS ether (unless learning to code is your primary interest of course :) ).
