I am seeking ideas for a cartoon guide to the advantages of Asperger's in the workplace. I have a very short deadline as this will be published tomorrow morning (5/22). I have ideas already, but please share yours and I might include them. I will give you credit if you request.

My focus is on positive traits, such as accuracy, focus, and honesty. I am looking for specific examples of how these qualities are valuable in the workplace.

I hope to provide a service with this post, but it's also of personal importance to me, as I'm job hunting and it's very likely prospective employers are reading my blog. Thanks.

Focus on the job and increased productivity since we do not waste time 'chatting it up' id say is one good thing.

I can't count how many times I would finish my workload by mid-day while my co-workers struggled to finish theirs by the end of the day... because they would spend so much time talking to each other, constantly interrupting their workflow to small talk or contribute to their conversations.

Its like the difference between being stuck in stop-go traffic & red lights along the way and driving on a toll highway using an e-pass. :P

Ha! Great suggestion. I did a whole post on productivity once. Love the EZ-pass analogy!

Here's the post: http://bit.ly/lxB4j9

I tried to do the tollbooth/EZ-pass but it was just too complicated.

LOL @ the honesty part. So true.

The loyalty one though... umm.. i dont like it. I dont see that as indication of loyalty but rather ease of exploitation.

I actually quit my last job because of that very situation. I had been there for 5 years and they were pulling the 'economy' excuse for denying my pay rate increase (which was 2 years overdue) all the while the top managers and supervisors were all getting 10% raises. When confronted with that all I got was the 'thats how it is if you dont like it too bad'. So I left. :P

A good point - not sure what other example I could use.

Concern for fairness, maybe?

Great cartoon! Also, thanks very much for Dude, I'm an Aspie! I have it bookmarked as a friendly, concise way to tell my old friends about my new diagnosis.

Love the cartoon dude. Now if any potential employers knew about this when hiring me it would be great.
