I had an interview for a GIS position in Houston this morning. They replied back about an hour ago, and they said I got it. I start the Tuesday after Memorial Day (May 31st).

It is a 18-month contract position paying $20/hour.

Sweet. I have been meaning to learn GIS but other obsessions get in the way. When I was younger I used to sit and read maps for hours.

I am just so excited about this, after waiting 17 months since graduating from college, and applying to hundreds of positions in 46 states (the other 4 states were Mississippi, Montana, Vermont, and Rhode Island). Had I moved out of state, I would have most likely ended up in either California or Colorado.
